Our Early Education (PreK) Program
St. John School’s Early Education (PreK) program is the only Catholic preschool in the North End of Boston. Our private preschool features a rich and robust PreK curriculum, ensuring that our youngest learners have access to high-quality curricula and engaging play-based education.
Beginning in PreK3 and PreK4, St. John students experience joyful learning with curricula that fosters discovery, growth, and development through intentional play."Opening the World of Learning" (OWL) program is a holistic curriculum designed to nurture language and early literacy skills among students. OWL fosters personal, social, and emotional development in children, using engaging hands-on activities to enrich the learning experience.

Each classroom has 2 educators, one teacher and a teacher’s aide. In partnership with the Peter and Carolyn Lynch Foundation Early Childhood Project, our classrooms are outfitted with innovative resources and continued education opportunities for teachers.
The PreK program at St. John School prepares students to be ready for kindergarten and beyond. Students find transitioning to upper grades seamless and are well supported. The familiarity of faculty and staff, alignment with programs, and feeling part of the school community help students grow and encourage leadership. Daily, students live our school motto Be, Belong, Become. -
