Kindergarten through Grade four is a period of tremendous growth for students. They learn the skills necessary for future success—math, reading, science, social studies, and more—and start to use them in everyday life. At St. John School, learning is joyful and exciting, for the students AND our teachers!
Transition to Elementary
From the moment students arrive, they enter into a day structured with learning and laughter–a consistent schedule and a balance between core academic classes and specials, including recess. Within our rigorous curriculum, we prioritize time to work independently and space to explore their own interests so that all St. John students grow at a pace that works for them, all while being challenged.
Elementary school is where students begin to learn and understand that different teachers have different teaching styles. In preparation for success in Middle school, they get to experience this as they switch classes for Social Studies and Science in Grades three and four, mastering transition and navigating new learning environments and styles.
