A Catholic Elementary PreK3–8th Grade School in the Heart of Boston.
Featuring an enriching and exciting Pre-K program and a rigorous K-8 curriculum, a loving and dedicated faculty helping all students reach their potential, and a supportive school community, St. John School focuses everything they do on community, curriculum, and compassion.
In addition to being in the heart of the most historic neighborhood in Boston, we are conveniently located close to our city’s medical, financial, government, and science hubs.
One of the many benefits of St. John School is that we are here when your child’s education begins with a comprehensive Pre-K program, helping students develop a strong educational foundation at an early age. The continuity and consistency of our Pre-K through Middle School program ensures that students and their families are known and cared for throughout these formative years as they grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Our small size and unique location mean students receive personal and individualized attention. We focus on academic excellence and strong faith, providing an exceptional education with affordable tuition and the feel of an independent school.
We believe in challenging our students to grow into critical thinkers capable of applying their knowledge and skills across the continuum of learning. Our curriculum compels curiosity and encourages all students to be active learners.
A significant benefit to St. John School families is our extensive after-school program that runs daily from 2:30 to 6 pm. Students spend time in after-school classes building confidence, while trying new activities in a safe, familiar environment supported by their peers and faculty who they know, love, and trust. Children can participate in a wide variety of programs, including homework club, art, improv, music, pottery, ballet, Irish step dancing, technology, coding and robotics, chess, Dungeons and Dragons, Spanish, yoga, Chinese, drama, collage art, movie-making, athletics, speech and debate, fencing, and others!
One of the reasons our school community is so strong is that we are structured with family accessibility in mind. Knowing that many of our families work here in town, we intentionally schedule concerts, parent meetings, and other events at convenient times so parents can participate as often as possible.
